All documents should be accompanied by a sworn Translator if they are in any other language. For example a translator within Australia must be certified by the National Accreditation Authority for Translators but outside Australia, translators should endorse their translations with required information in the language being translated.
The translations which are produced by one of the following conditions are considered as ‘sworn translation’.
- The documents translated by ‘Sworn Translator’: In some countries, the translators are recognized by high authorities like High Court of Justice. For this recognition, the translators registered with an official system or official body as a “sworn Translator” so that they may produce certified translation. In the UK, there is no official body for recognition and certification.
- The documents has been certified by translation company: As in the UK, there is no existence of official body for certification of translations, so the translators that produce translations for requesting party are declared professional and their translations are understand as ‘accurate and true translations of the original’. These translators can add qualifications to their profile to claim as certified translators.
- The documents Certification by solicitor: The translator company is declared as certified and the document is signed before notary public or solicitor to be called ‘true to the original’. To act as a witness, the notary public or the solicitor signed at the document and place their official seal. There is a significant fee for signing documents in front of a solicitor.
